Tested on the streets and in arenas all over the world, the Wolfgang® Special is a thoroughbred music-making machine designed with extraordinary style, giant sound, and high-speed playability.

The Wolfgang Special QM features a basswood body with an arched flamed maple top and a sturdy quartersawn fired maple neck reinforced with graphite.  The neck is carved and rolled to Eddie Van Halen's exacting specifications and features a hand-polished satin finish on the back.  Prepared for high performance, energetic riffs and fiery leads, the 12“-16” radius maple fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays

A pair of custom-designed EVH® Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups are mounted directly on the body, providing a dynamic yet articulate sound as well as infinite sustain for powerful chords and melodic lines.  A sturdy and reliable EVH-branded Floyd Rose® tremolo and a Floyd Rose locking capo work in tandem for precise tuning even with extreme changes in pitch, while the EVH D-Tuna® retunes to drop-D and return with pinpoint accuracy at the touch of a finger. 

The volume knob with treble bleed circuit has a 500K EVH Bourns® low-friction potentiometer for smooth waves, and a tone control knob with a 250K Bourns high-friction potentiometer prevents accidental tone shifting
